Entry #1 and Everything Ever

And there you are, standing in front of everything ever, but where do you go?

While I was in highschool I had a job editing and filming exercising videos. Richard, my boss, had good taste in music and an encyclopedia of obscure knowledge. He really relished in the collection of the antiquated and any conversation with him was eventually going to lead to one of those tip-of-the-tongue moments where either he or I would forget the name of some concept or musician or person or whatever, the kind that bothers you for days until it finally wakes you up one night.

Of course this experience isn't unique or even uncommon and 'Googling,' the only capitalized verb I can think of, is often prescribed to remedy the forgetful.

Anyway, this particularly interesting concept he once mentioned was the existence of a 'universal' library consisting of all the events of the past and all the possible events of the future. It was said to be an actual place somewhere in the universe where you could access any experience. When you gain full enlightenment, you can go to this place and kind of channel any experience you want. Or maybe you gain enlightenment after you experience everything which I suppose is when you become everyone. (Wait, what?) I think the concept was Hindi, so the whole caste system makes sense here. For once. Finally. Still not really.

Many places have tried to achieve that goal, including the lost Library of Alexandria whose goal was to store all the information in the world. An ambitious endeavor, anyone who came through the gates of Alexandria was forced to surrender all books and text to the library where scribes would then quickly make copies before returning them to their owners. The internet is kind of becoming that universal library I guess, but it's not as exciting as you would imagine it, is it? Even though its all here, where do you go? Your friends blog. Booooorrrrriiiinnngggg. But maybe he is like a librarian and he's got a suggestion:

The Library of Babel This story comes close, kind of.

Also, Facebook sponsored the New Hampshire debates thereby solidifying their reputation as the more mature social networking website. And thats a collage I did that kind of has everything to do with everything.
